Music exploration for children (7-9 yo) (Class in English!)

Playing music together: how do you do that? And which musical instrument suits you the best?

During these music exploration classes, children ages 7 to 9 years old get the opportunity to try out all kinds of instruments.

Would you like to be the drummer of the band? Do you love rhythm & percussion? Or do you love playing pretty melodies? Are you fond of singing and do you enjoy the thrill of the spotlight? Or do you rather play an accompanying instrument in the background?

Let's try them all!

In a small group (maximum 4 children), we learn about notation and making music in a playful way. In a fascinating and instructive way, theory is alternated with practical exercises, in which we learn the basic elements of reading notes and feeling rhythm.

No prior knowledge required!

When: Wednesday from 3.45 pm until 4.45 pm

Our Board of Directors put their heads together again to brainstorm how we, as a music school, can keep our prices as accessible as possible despite inflation and the impact of corona on our financial reserves.

We have no choice but to raise our fees, but we continue to look for ways to do so in "Harteklop-style".

In the coming school year, there will be 3 rates for all classes:
- the basic price
- the support price
- the extra support price

If the majority of our students can pay the support price, those who are really tight pay the extra support price, and only those who are very tight pay the basic price, it is financially viable.

The reason why we continue to offer these options in openness and trust is because the rules that generally apply around 'social rate' often do not match reality: some people do not fall under the conditions for social rate when their situation really calls for it, while others do meet the criteria, but are actually not as tight in money.

Harteklop vzw is a non-profit organisation that has been around for 17 years. We want to keep our ‘human touch’ in the way we offer our music classes.

The choices in terms of class duration (30', 45' or 60'), frequency (weekly or every 2 weeks) and the option to take classes individually or in pairs or groups make for a very diverse range of options.

We sincerely hope that everyone will find an affordable option within the new rates so you can all continue your wonderful hobby : music!
